Building on a solid foundation

By surprise, our builder sent us a photo of what was happening at our lot today...and the foundation is poured! It's starting to look like a house might actually come out of this!
Looks like a gorgeous day in Urbandale!
So, I talked to our to-be neighbor Kelli at work today and she said they were out there working at 5:30AM...I apologized because that is waaaaaaaaay too early for me but she said she didn't care. Apparently she's an early riser...so, for those of you I haven't told, Kelli is our new house next door neighbor that also works at Pioneer as a vendor. She's the catering manager at our onsite cafeteria and I put it all together when we were at the lot and she came home to the house next door a few times. So one day I awkwardly, went up and asked her if she lived on 141st Street...I'm sure she was thinking I was some kind of stalker or something but she was relieved to find out that I'm just her soon-to-be neighbor. I promised her I wasn't peeking any windows or anything! :) She and her husband, Mike, are around our age, DINKs (double income, no kids) and he's an Iowa fan (she's a Cyclone but if that's her only fault, I'll let it slide) so I think we'll really enjoy having them next door.

We will be touring the spec house which is almost an exact mirror of our house on Saturday morning with my parents and also stopping by the lot. Hopefully there will be more pictures and updates to come from that visit. For now, I am satisfied that we have a good, solid foundation to build our house upon.
