Introducing Bridget Denice Day

Ummm...a little late but here it goes:

On Friday, March 23rd, Brian and I welcomed our little angel Bridget Denice into the world! She is absolutely perfect and we couldn't feel any more blessed to have her!

Here is the quick version of her birth story:
On Thursday, March 22nd, I was at work and thought I was leaking amniotic fluid...Brian and I ventured down to Labor and Delivery, only to be sent home. On Friday at 3:30am, I started having contractions and woke Brian up at 6am to start timing the contractions. At 8:30am we decided we should go back to Labor and Delivery and get checked in. This time they admitted me and determined that my water had broken, we just weren't sure when. They started me on a slow poticin drip and I got some pain meds all while in a small triage room. The hospital was a busy place - there were 14 new moms/babies checking out so we had to wait for a room and finally got into our room at 1:30pm. Shortly after that I got my epidural I was at 4cm dilated. By 4pm, I was at 8cm dilated and started pushing at 5pm. The doctor was in the middle of 2 circumcisions so I had to stop pushing for a bit but it was shift change so I was lucky to get Dr. Curt Hoeg in to delivery our baby. When Dr. Hoeg came in he introduced himself to us and said "Brian, we gotta get this thing going, basketball starts at 6!"  At 6:37pm, we got to set eyes on our beautiful little girl! When Dr. Hoeg pulled her out, I saw the cord and said "It's a boy?!" He said "look again..." I could not believe it was a little girl and she was absolutely perfect. We didn't see a single minute of basketball after that......

Here are a few pics from the day:
At the hospital on Friday - getting all set up.

In our room - epidurals are gooooood!

She's here...and she's beautiful!

We had such great labor and delivery nurses at Methodist and are so thankful for all they did for us and all of the excellent advice we were given. As we packed up for our venture home, our discharge nurse, Trish and I were walking out to the car and I said "I just don't know how we got so lucky." Trish said to me "honey, you ain't lucky, you are blessed."
