Last weekend at the townhouse

Well, we are finishing up the last weekend at the townhouse and it's feeling pretty surreal that we are actually moving into the place we have "built" over the last several months. This past week we had a couple meetings and walk throughs with our builder and it seems that things have been progressively been getting cleaner and the to-do list gets shorter each time. Unfortunately during these meetings/walk thru's I didn't take any photos but you can trust me on this one. So far this week we were at the house Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Sunday which is more than we have been in the last month probably. Each time we went through with a critical eye marking any areas that needed paint touch ups, calking or just anything else that wasn't quite right. Tomorrow is the final, final, final clean and we are walking thru with Bill at noon tomorrow. Then...a mere 24 hours later we will be walking out of Banker's Trust with keys in hand and little $$ in our pocketbook! ;-) I'm sure we will have the biggest, cheesiest grins on our face though! It is going to be awesome to finally be able to walk into this place and call it OURS for real! We will still have contractors coming in and out I'm sure for some small stuff that isn't done by Tuesday - such as the window coverings that need to be put on and we are still waiting on some shelving for 2 closets in the basement. So, that's it. I'll be sure to let you know how the move goes...we have already started packing up the townhouse so we are ready to go the second we get those keys. I can tell you that we won't be wasting one minute as our plan is to pack up the cars tomorrow night and head over to the house after closing to unload the first batch...I know, I know...I will NOT be lifting a finger, promise. So maybe I should be rephrase that...BRIAN will be loading up the cars tomorrow night and unloading Tuesday after the closing appointment. I'll just be there to soak it all in and direct - you know I'm good at that! The weather is projected to be clear skies, sunny and a cozy 46 on Thursday when the movers actually come to take the big stuff and for our first night in the house. Can you say let's get that fireplace turned on?!

Thanks for reading along with us as we have gone through the building process...my plan is to keep periodic house related updates and I'm sure there will be some baby updates too. At 21 weeks Baby Day Day is doing just kicking away, mainly when I'm laying down or finally get some couch time. My belly has definitely popped out and I'm having more and more strangers and co-workers that I see in the hall from time to time ask my due date...safe to say I am out of the "I just ate a huge burrito" looking phase as the tummy rounded out.
